Kim Kardashian has opened up about spending five years single to focus on personal healing following her split from rapper Kanye West. The 45-year-old reality star and businesswoman, who is a mother of four, described the period as an opportunity to concentrate on her children and her professional projects.
Kardashian, who finalized her divorce from West in 2021, recounted to The Times that she valued the time alone to work on herself and fully recover from the end of her marriage. “I was really single for five years. And that felt great,” she said, emphasizing the importance of this phase in her life.
Since then, Kardashian has entered into a relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, 41. The couple first made their public debut together at the Super Bowl in February. Prior to her relationship with Hamilton, Kardashian briefly dated comedian Pete Davidson for nine months in 2021, following her divorce filing.
Despite her high-profile lifestyle and access to extensive childcare support, Kardashian portrayed herself as an engaged and caring parent. She said she personally handles daily tasks such as school runs, shared dinners, and reading to her children, who are North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven. However, she expressed concern over how her public life might affect her children given their visibility.
Her reflections highlight a focus on family and personal growth amid the public scrutiny that often accompanies her career and relationships.
