The King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center in Jordan recently recognized Qatar Charity for its ongoing support and strategic partnership in providing cancer treatment to financially disadvantaged patients. The award was presented during a ceremony held in Amman marking the 25th anniversary of the Foundation and Center.
Prince Faisel al-Hussei represented King Abdullah II at the event, which highlighted the Center’s progress over the past quarter-century. Since its establishment, the King Hussein Cancer Center has made significant advancements in cancer care services and improved the overall quality of healthcare for patients in Jordan.
Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, chief executive officer of Qatar Charity, accepted the recognition on behalf of the organization. The partnership between Qatar Charity and the King Hussein Cancer Foundation dates back to 2017, when the two entities signed a memorandum of understanding to create a charitable fund of 250,000 Jordanian dinars. This fund aimed to assist cancer patients of various nationalities, including refugees, who could not afford treatment costs.
In 2023, the collaboration was further strengthened with a new agreement to support individuals receiving care at the King Hussein Cancer Center. This renewed cooperation focuses on enabling underprivileged patients to complete their treatment, ensuring continued access regardless of their financial circumstances.
The long-term partnership reflects shared efforts to address barriers to cancer treatment in Jordan, providing critical resources to vulnerable populations and enhancing the Foundation’s humanitarian mission.
