Saudi Arabia has approved 19 new hospitality projects valued at approximately SR6.7 billion ($1.78 billion) as part of its ongoing efforts to expand the tourism sector. The projects, supported through the Hospitality Investment Enablers Program, will be developed across five key tourism regions: Al-Baha, Al-Ahsa, Jeddah, Asir, and the Eastern Province.
This initiative, launched jointly by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Investment, aims to enhance the operational efficiency and attractiveness of hospitality ventures in these areas by offering targeted support to reduce costs and improve investment conditions. The program includes participation from 19 companies such as BSF Capital, Sedal, Rikaz, and Jeenan.
The broader strategy reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to significantly growing its tourism infrastructure. The Kingdom’s pipeline currently comprises over $120 billion in planned tourism investments, with expectations to add more than 200,000 hotel rooms by 2030, according to official statements.
Tourism has seen substantial growth recently, with the Kingdom hosting around 123 million domestic and international visitors in 2025. Tourism-related spending also reached a record SR300 billion last year, marking a 7 percent increase from 2024.
The approved projects are expected to generate more than 17,000 jobs, contributing to the government's economic diversification goals. These developments align with Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 plan to reduce reliance on oil revenues by leveraging the country’s cultural, natural, and historical attractions to build a robust tourism sector.
