The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 on Saturday, extending their road point streak to seven games with their third consecutive win overall. Tage Thompson led the Sabres with two goals, including the game-winner at 13:40 of the third period on a power play, assisted by Jack Quinn. Quinn also contributed a goal and an assist, while Zach Benson and Rasmus Dahlin each added two assists. Goaltender Anton Forsberg made 28 saves to secure the victory.

Buffalo controlled much of the game but allowed the Kings to rally late after taking several penalties. Quinn opened the scoring on a power play at 6:35 of the first period, marking his eighth goal of the season and giving the Sabres a 1-0 lead. Despite the Kings gaining momentum in the latter half of the second period, Thompson extended the Sabres’ lead to 2-0 with his ninth goal at 15:38.

The Kings responded with a power-play goal by Corey Perry at 17:24, which stood after a coach’s challenge overturned an initial goaltender interference call. Andre Lee tied the game less than two minutes into the third period, but Thompson’s late one-timer restored Buffalo’s lead, which held through the final minutes.

Los Angeles, now 4-7-2, was without top forward Adrian Kempe, who remains day to day with an undisclosed injury. Martin Chromiak made his NHL debut, filling Kempe’s spot on the Kings’ first line.

Additionally, Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke returned to the lineup after Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson received a two-game suspension for charging and boarding Clarke during a game Thursday. The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced the suspension following a hearing on Friday.

The Sabres improved to 7-4-3 with the win as they look to maintain momentum on the road, while the Kings continue to seek consistency amid roster challenges.
