The New York Knicks marked their recent championship victory with a series of celebrations across the city over the weekend, blending exclusive events and community engagement. On Sunday night, key members of the team gathered at Flyfish Club, a private members’ venue in the Lower East Side, for a high-profile party attended by players and close associates.
Among those present were three-time NBA All-Star Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Landry Shamet, Miles McBride, Tyler Kolek, Mohamed Diawara, Kevin McCullar Jr., Trey Jemison III, Dillon Jones, Ariel Hukporti, and Jordan Clarkson. Towns was joined by his fiancée, socialite Jordyn Woods, whose distinctive orange handbag had become a kind of unofficial good-luck charm for the team. The gathering also featured a performance by BET-nominated rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie. MLB All-Star second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was among the notable guests sharing the celebratory atmosphere.
Earlier in the day, Knicks players Jose Alvarado and Jordan Clarkson took part in the Knickerbocker Avenue Puerto Rican Day Parade. Alvarado, the only New York-born player on the current Knicks roster, expressed his deep connection to the city during the event. “Thank you guys so much, it means the world to me. Really,” Alvarado said from a parade float. “I’m a kid from Brooklyn. And the Knicks party f--kin’ did it.” Alvarado was raised in Williamsburg before relocating to Queens.
Jalen Brunson, a two-time national champion at Villanova alongside Bridges and Hart before entering the NBA, emphasized the importance of maintaining balance throughout the team’s journey. “Standing the situation, you have to keep your composure,” Brunson said. “No matter when it’s being too high or being too low, you gotta stay even-keeled. That’s something I had for a long time.”
Bridges was noted for his exuberant celebrations, including an Instagram Live broadcast during which he discussed various team-related topics, ranging from local proposals to honor Brunson to lighthearted commentary about his dog’s music preferences. Brunson playfully commented on social media, urging someone to “take Mikal’s phone away.”
The Knicks are scheduled to appear on Monday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” further extending their post-victory visibility. Looking ahead, the team’s championship parade is planned for Thursday, commencing at Battery Park and proceeding through the Canyon of Heroes before concluding at City Hall.
