Tze Liang, himself a former Commonwealth Games gold medallist in springboard diving, emphasized the importance of maintaining focus amidst external distractions. He advised Pandelela to concentrate on physical and mental preparedness, noting that she has the experience to handle the pressures and commentary that come with competing at a high level. “She should just focus on the present and what needs to be done. Pandelela’s career at the Asian Games spans over a decade, beginning with her debut in Guangzhou in 2010. She won silver in the women’s 10m platform synchro event with Leong Mun Yee and bronze in the individual 10m platform that year. Incheon 2014 saw the pair secure another bronze in the synchro event. After failing to medal in Jakarta in 2018, Pandelela returned to the podium in Hangzhou with a bronze in the individual 10m platform.

Currently, Pandelela and the Malaysian diving team are training in a camp in China as they prepare for the upcoming Games. With her experience and the support of her coaching staff, Pandelela aims to add further accolades to her distinguished diving career.
