Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis emphasized the organization’s commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships with national institutions, including the oil sector, during a meeting on Tuesday with representatives from the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC). The discussions focused on expanding humanitarian efforts, developing community initiatives, and coordinating collaborative projects to better serve various segments of the population.
Attending the meeting were Abdulrahman Al-Olayan, KOTC Director of Public Relations and Administrative Services; Abdulwahab Al-Qatami, Head of the Public Relations and Media Team; and Mariam Al-Samhan, Senior Public Relations Supervisor. The gathering aimed to explore avenues for joint cooperation and provided an opportunity for KOTC to gain insight into KRCS’s ongoing humanitarian and relief programs.
In comments to local media, Al-Mughamis highlighted the importance KRCS places on building sustainable institutional partnerships that leverage the strengths and expertise of different sectors. He indicated that collaboration with entities in the oil industry presents significant opportunities to broaden volunteer initiatives and implement high-quality programs tailored to community needs. Such alliances, he added, also foster societal solidarity and support humanitarian activities both within Kuwait and internationally.
From the KOTC perspective, Al-Olayan expressed a strong interest in strengthening ties with leading humanitarian organizations like KRCS to benefit from their field experience and enhance mutual knowledge exchange. He noted that the visit allowed KOTC representatives to better understand the structure and implementation of KRCS’s volunteer and relief efforts. Emphasizing the value of successful humanitarian models, Al-Olayan outlined the company’s intention to develop corporate social responsibility initiatives inspired by these experiences, aiming to cultivate a culture of social responsibility among institutional staff.
Al-Olayan praised KRCS for its impactful work in Kuwait and abroad and expressed optimism about the potential for collaborative initiatives that would positively impact the community and fulfill shared goals. Both parties conveyed readiness to pursue further cooperation to strengthen humanitarian outreach and community development throughout the country.
