Bahrain and Kuwait have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in housing and urban development during a meeting held in Manama on Wednesday. Bahraini Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna Al-Rumaihi and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Jassim Al-Najem, discussed ways to enhance collaboration and exchange expertise to support sustainable development and address housing needs in both countries.

The discussions underscored the significance of bilateral efforts in the housing sector as part of broader development cooperation. Al-Rumaihi highlighted the role of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in backing housing initiatives in Bahrain, citing the Al-Hidd Housing Project as a successful example of joint development. She also detailed Bahrain’s ongoing work to refine housing policies, update legislation, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector to deliver housing solutions tailored to citizens.

Echoing these sentiments, Al-Najem emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to expanding its cooperative ties with Bahrain in housing and related projects. He noted that sharing expertise and best practices underlines the deep historical and fraternal connections between the two nations, reflecting their mutual focus on advancing development goals and meeting the aspirations of their populations.

The meeting reflects continued efforts by both governments to foster sustainable urban growth and improve access to housing through collaborative initiatives, with financial and technical support facilitating progress on major projects. Such partnerships aim to address the growing demand for housing amid broader national development strategies.
