Senior Kuwaiti military officials met with Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin on Wednesday to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral military cooperation. The meetings, held separately with key Kuwaiti defense figures, focused on strengthening the relationship between the two countries and exploring areas of mutual interest.

Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Barjas, Undersecretary of the National Guard, received Ambassador Yang and his delegation to review issues relevant to both parties. The discussions included resource management and security matters, with participation from Major General Riyad Tawari, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs and Resource Management at the National Guard, and Brigadier General Abdullah Abdullah, Acting Commander of Military and Security Affairs.

Concurrently, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan, Chief of the General Staff of the Army, also held talks with the ambassador regarding joint military cooperation. Their discussions addressed mechanisms to improve coordination and collaboration between Kuwait’s armed forces and Chinese military representatives. The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Major General (Pilot) Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Hamad Al-Suwaidi, Commander of the Land Forces, and the Chinese Military Attaché to Kuwait.

According to a statement from the Kuwaiti General Staff, the meetings underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in defense-related fields that serve the shared interests of Kuwait and China. The engagements reflect ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen military ties amid a broader context of increased diplomatic and strategic interaction.
