KUALA LUMPUR — Kuwait’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Khaled Al-Yassin, and Indonesia’s Minister of Villages and Rural Development, Yandri Susanto, met on Wednesday to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in rural development and to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

During the discussions, Susanto underscored the strong relationship between Kuwait and Indonesia, highlighting Kuwait’s significant humanitarian and charitable contributions within Indonesian rural communities. He noted that Kuwait has supported initiatives including the establishment of model villages, schools, health centers, mosques, and the drilling of water wells, which have collectively improved access to essential services and promoted rural development.

In recognition of these efforts, the Indonesian minister awarded a certificate of appreciation to the Kuwaiti Embassy for its sustained commitment to sustainable development and assistance to vulnerable populations across the country.

Ambassador Al-Yassin emphasized Kuwait’s global leadership in relief, humanitarian, and development activities. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s intention to expand its cooperation with Indonesia across various sectors, aiming to advance the shared interests and welfare of both nations.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Kuwait and Indonesia to deepen their collaborative engagement in projects that enhance rural infrastructure and social services, fostering long-term development and mutual benefit.
