Kuwait and Pakistan have formalized a new defense and military cooperation agreement that aims to enhance strategic ties and regional security. The agreement was signed on Thursday in Islamabad by Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The ceremony took place in the presence of Pakistan’s Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraian, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nassar Al-Mutairi.

The signing occurred during Sheikh Abdullah’s official visit to Pakistan, where he was accorded a formal military reception. Both parties reviewed the current state of Kuwaiti-Pakistani relations and explored avenues for deeper collaboration in defense and military affairs. Discussions also covered recent regional and global developments, focusing on shared challenges and the potential for coordinated efforts to promote stability and security in the region.

In addition to the signing ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah held talks with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir. The meeting focused on the ongoing cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces and considered prospects for expanding joint initiatives. The officials exchanged views on bilateral issues and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and advancing defense relations.
