Kuwait’s Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah met with the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Defense Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard, on Tuesday to discuss enhancing bilateral military and defense cooperation. The discussions took place at Bayan Palace and aimed to reinforce the longstanding ties between the two countries.
Officials from both sides examined opportunities to strengthen and expand collaboration in defense and military sectors in ways that serve their mutual interests. The talks included a review of the historical relationship between Kuwait and the UK, highlighting the depth of their partnership over the years.
In addition to broadening cooperation frameworks, the meeting addressed various issues of common concern, with an emphasis on increasing coordination and joint efforts. The session was attended by Kuwait’s Chief of the General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr Abdullah Meshaal Al-Sabah, Head of the Armament and Equipment Authority Brigadier General Khalifa Duaij Al-Sabah, UK Ambassador to Kuwait Qudsi Rashid, and senior military officials from both countries.
The discussions underscore Kuwait and the United Kingdom’s commitment to advancing defense relations amid evolving regional and global security landscapes.
