Kuwait Club has intensified preparations ahead of its AFC Champions League Two Group A match against Uzbekistan’s Nasaf Qarshi, scheduled for Wednesday at home in Kuwait City. The team aims to secure another victory that would bolster its chances of advancing to the knockout stage.
Under the guidance of coach Firas Al-Khatib, training sessions have become increasingly rigorous as the squad, known as the Whites, seeks to maintain momentum. Kuwait Club currently holds second place in the group standings with six points, trailing UAE’s Al-Wahda by three points. Bahrain’s Khalidiya and Nasaf Qarshi are tied for third, each with one point.
Kuwait Club’s path to qualification hinges on winning its remaining two group matches. Additionally, the team must rely on favorable results in the contest between Al-Wahda and Khalidiya, particularly a win or draw for Al-Wahda, to secure a spot in the next round.
All squad members have been participating in recent training sessions, demonstrating high morale following two consecutive victories. Kuwait Club began the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Al-Wahda but rebounded with a 3-1 win over Khalidiya. The team then achieved a crucial 1-0 away victory against Nasaf Qarshi in Uzbekistan last Wednesday.
Separately, Kuwait Club’s seventh-round Zain Premier League match against Kazma, initially set for Tuesday, has been postponed to mid-December.
