Kuwait Club surged to the top of the Zain Premier League standings with a dominant 7-1 victory over Al-Nasr in the fourth round opener at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium on October 10. The Bahrain international Mohammed Marhoon opened the scoring for Kuwait Club with a header in the 26th minute. Al-Nasr briefly leveled the match in the 55th minute due to an own goal by Kuwait Club defender Omar Gonzalez, but Kuwait responded emphatically by netting six unanswered goals in the second half.
Ali Hussein restored the lead just three minutes after Al-Nasr’s equalizer. Yassine Khenissi then struck twice in quick succession at the 64th and 66th minutes. Ahmed Al-Dhafiri added a fourth goal for Kuwait Club in the 74th minute, followed by goals from Faisal Zayed in the 84th and Omar Abdel Fattah in the 89th minute, completing the comprehensive win. The three points lifted Kuwait Club to 10 points atop the league, while Al-Nasr remained on six points after suffering their second consecutive defeat.
In other action, Arabi managed a late 1-1 draw against Kazma at Al-Sadaqa wa Al-Salam Stadium. Kazma took the lead early through Shabeeb Al-Khaldi in the 20th minute, but new signing Ali Al-Doukhi equalized with a header just five minutes from the final whistle. Kazma moved to eight points from this draw, while Arabi climbed to three points.
The fourth round continues with two fixtures scheduled for October 11. Sahel will face Fahaheel at Al-Shabab Stadium, followed by Sulaibikhat against Jahra at Nayef Al-Dabbous Stadium. Sahel, holding four points, aims for its second victory in the season during this Tenth District derby. Fahaheel, with three points, also seeks a win to improve their standing. Jahra enters the match in pursuit of a second win following a 2-1 victory over Arabi, while Sulaibikhat, currently with two points, will be looking for a first win to distance themselves from relegation threats.
Following the league fixtures, several Kuwaiti clubs will focus on their continental and regional competitions. Qadsia is set to host Group C matches of the AFC Challenge League from October 17 to 23, with opponents including India’s Goa, Bangladesh’s Fortis, and Tajikistan’s Regar-TadAZ. Arabi will travel to Tajikistan to participate in Group B of the same tournament during the same period, competing against hosts Istiklol, Syria’s Homs Al-Fida, and Lebanon’s Al-Najma. Kazma will head to Dammam on October 11 to prepare for their AFC Gulf Club Champions League match against Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ettifaq on October 13.
