Kuwait Club secured its 16th Premier Handball League title and extended its record with a 14th consecutive championship after a decisive 36-21 victory over Burgan in the final round of the 2025-2026 season. The match took place on Thursday at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex in Kuwait City.

The club finished the season atop the standings with 27 points, well ahead of Burgan, which claimed second place with 19 points. Kazma secured third place with 18 points following a 38-28 win over Nasr in another league fixture. Al-Arabi placed fourth with 16 points, while Sulaibikhat and Nasr followed with eight and two points, respectively. Notably, two teams, Qadsia and Salmiya, withdrew from the competition this season.

Kuwait Club Chairman Khaled Al-Ghanim described the 14th consecutive league title as an unparalleled achievement in Kuwaiti handball. He credited the sustained success to the contributions of current and former club administrations, as well as the dedication of players, technical staff, and supporters. Al-Ghanim emphasized the club’s ambition to continue its winning streak and enhance its reputation both domestically and on the continental stage.

“Our objectives for the next season focus on winning championships, securing the top position, and representing Kuwait effectively in international tournaments,” Al-Ghanim stated. He acknowledged the strong support from fans, which he said was instrumental in driving the team’s performance throughout the season.

Burgan Chairman Anwar Al-Otaibi characterized his team’s campaign as positive, noting that finishing second secured their qualification for the upcoming Asian Club Championship. Looking ahead, Al-Otaibi expressed confidence in Burgan’s potential to compete for league and cup titles in the next season through strategic squad improvements and new player acquisitions. He also reaffirmed the club’s intent to defend its continental championship title.

Al-Otaibi further commended the Kuwait Handball Association for its role in fostering a competitive domestic league, which he said is crucial for elevating player standards and bolstering the national team’s prospects in the forthcoming World Handball Championship scheduled to take place in Germany early next year.
