Kuwait has formally denied allegations of involvement in military strikes against Iran, rejecting a recent report that claimed its participation in offensive operations alongside Bahrain. The country’s ambassador to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, sent an official letter to the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal disputing the accuracy of the article published on July 24, which asserted that Kuwaiti and Bahraini warplanes had targeted Iranian positions.

In her correspondence, Sheikha Al-Zain described the report as “entirely false” and emphasized that Kuwait neither took part in any attacks on Iran nor permitted its territory, airspace, or territorial waters to be used for such purposes. She reiterated that Kuwait’s stance during the ongoing regional crisis has been consistent and transparent, grounded in respect for international law, sovereignty of states, and the promotion of peaceful resolutions to disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

Highlighting Kuwait’s strategic position in a region long affected by conflict’s humanitarian and economic toll, the ambassador underscored the importance of de-escalation and restraint as the only viable paths toward achieving regional security. She noted that these principles continue to form the core of Kuwait’s foreign policy approach.

Sheikha Al-Zain also urged The Wall Street Journal to issue a correction to reflect Kuwait’s actual policies and position accurately. She stressed that responsible reporting during times of heightened tensions plays a critical role in maintaining regional stability and preventing misinformation from undermining efforts toward international peace and security.
