Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has announced adjustments to the schedule of Grade 12 final examinations to accommodate the observance of the Islamic New Year. The decision follows a meeting on June 15 led by Minister Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, who met with senior ministry officials to review exam preparations and consider potential date changes based on the lunar calendar.

According to the ministry, the schedule modifications aim to ensure student convenience and maintain the stability of the educational process. The changes are contingent on when the Hijri New Year is officially observed, which could be either June 16 or during the following two days.

If the lunar New Year is marked on Tuesday, June 16, the exams will proceed as initially planned, beginning the next day, Wednesday, June 17. Under this scenario, the scientific stream exams will conclude on June 28, while the literary and religious streams will finish on June 29.

Alternatively, if the New Year is observed on June 17 or 18, the ministry has postponed the start of exams to Sunday, June 21. In this case, the order of subjects will remain unchanged. The scientific section exams would then conclude on July 1, with the literary and religious sections wrapping up on July 2. Exam results are scheduled to be released on July 3 under both scenarios.

The Ministry of Education stated that updated final exam schedules will be published on its official website promptly after the competent authorities confirm the date of the Islamic New Year.

In parallel with these schedule adjustments, the ministry continues to execute its organizational and supervisory plans for the 2025/2026 end-of-year examinations. Officials emphasized their commitment to creating a supportive environment that facilitates students’ performance during the exams.
