Kuwait secured third place in the overall country rankings at the AJP Tour Asia Jiu-Jitsu Championship held in Abu Dhabi from September 4 to 6. The event, hosted at Mubadala Arena, drew more than 2,000 competitors representing 90 countries.

Kuwait’s achievement was highlighted by Ahmad Al-Rashed, coach at Kuwait Jiu-Jitsu Academy, who attributed the strong showing to the dedicated preparation and development efforts by Kuwaiti coaches and athletes. He emphasized that technical training, physical conditioning, and fostering qualities such as discipline, commitment, perseverance, and sportsmanship played a key role in the team's performance.

Al-Rashed noted that Kuwaiti competitors displayed determination and a competitive spirit throughout the tournament, reflecting the growth of jiu-jitsu within the country. He also acknowledged the backing of the Kuwait Olympic Committee through its Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Committee, which has been instrumental in advancing the sport domestically and providing a supportive environment for athletes.

In the final standings, Kuwait accumulated 107,440 points, placing it behind the United Arab Emirates, which topped the leaderboard with 568,100 points, and Brazil, which finished second with 153,200 points.

The championship featured contests across multiple age groups and belt categories, attracting a broad international field and serving as a key competition in the jiu-jitsu calendar for Asian and global athletes. The event underscored the growing prominence of the sport and spotlighted emerging talent from Kuwait and other participating nations.
