The Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) launched its summer safety awareness campaign on Friday at Khairan Mall, under the slogan “A Safe Summer with the Fire Department.” The initiative aims to increase public understanding of fire hazards, drowning risks, and accident prevention during the peak summer season in Kuwait.

Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Gharib, spokesperson for the KFF, explained that the campaign will run throughout the summer and include a range of educational activities. These will feature awareness exhibitions, lectures, boat trips, and visits to shopping centers as well as government and private institutions. The program is designed to provide guidance on safety protocols, fire and accident prevention methods, and proper emergency response procedures.

Al-Gharib emphasized that the campaign is part of the Fire Force’s efforts to boost preventive awareness among the public to safeguard lives and property while reducing the number of accidents during the summer months. The campaign will specifically target safety practices in recreational areas, marine environments, and residential settings. It will also focus on highlighting common causes of fires and accidents, along with strategies to avoid these risks.

The Kuwait Fire Force encouraged public participation in the campaign’s activities and urged citizens and residents to benefit from the awareness programs and closely follow safety instructions. Al-Gharib noted the importance of community cooperation in lowering hazards and protecting lives and property during the hot season.

In addition, Al-Gharib provided statistics on KFF operations during the first quarter of 2026, reporting that firefighting teams across Kuwait’s governorates responded to 3,633 incidents from January 1 to March 31. These calls included fires, rescue operations, other emergencies, and public services. Of these, 750 cases involved residential and non-residential buildings, as well as transportation facilities across the country.
