The Kuwait Handball League Premier Division resumed on October 6 after a suspension that began in early March due to regional developments in the Gulf. Efforts are now focused on completing the season and restoring domestic competition momentum. The latest round on October 10 features key matches, including Kuwait Club against Al-Nasr and Arabi facing Kazma.

Kuwait Club, currently the league favorite, aims to extend its winning streak when it takes on Al-Nasr. The team has shown strength and consistency, highlighted by a recent convincing victory over Burgan. Al-Nasr, meanwhile, seeks to recover following a defeat to Kazma in the previous round. Kuwait Club’s experienced squad and depth position them as favorites heading into the match.

Arabi and Kazma are set to contest a closely fought encounter, with both teams targeting a top-three finish in the Premier Division standings. Kazma arrives buoyed by a recent win, whereas Arabi will make its first appearance since the league resumed, having missed the prior round. Arabi’s campaign is guided by national coach Hussein Habib, who is looking to leverage several new local signings made during the summer break to strengthen the team’s competitive edge.

Notably, Qadsia and Salmiya are expected to be absent from the latest fixtures after both clubs announced the dissolution of their senior handball teams earlier in the season. Each had already withdrawn from the previous round, and according to league regulations, a third withdrawal would result in their removal from the league standings.

Beyond domestic competition, Kuwait Club is preparing for the Gulf Club Championship scheduled for November in Bahrain. The team plans to conduct an overseas training camp in Cairo as part of its preparations. To bolster its lineup for the regional tournament, Kuwait Club has reinforced its roster with the addition of Egyptian pivot Mahmoud Abdelaziz, formerly of Valladolid. These reinforcements, which also include Bahraini player Mohammed Habib and Montenegrin Vladan Ljubova, reflect the club’s ambition to compete strongly at the Gulf level. There are also plans to incorporate Japanese player Yasuhiro, currently with Burgan, for the championship.
