He also pointed to the growing role of artificial intelligence and technology in shaping the future of the financial sector. KIB aims to leverage the event to explore potential partnerships and strengthen its position within Kuwait’s banking industry.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) is sending a delegation led by Vice Chairman and Group CEO Isam Al-Sager. The team includes senior executives responsible for banking operations both domestically and internationally, as well as heads of financial institutions and digital communications. NBK's participation extends to attending specialized seminars, including one hosted by the Group of Thirty (G30), which gathers global central bank governors and financial sector leaders to examine systemic financial issues. NBK’s delegates are also expected to engage in bilateral meetings with international officials to address recent challenges in the banking and financial sectors. The delegation will participate in multiple reception events hosted by regional and international financial institutions, providing opportunities for networking and dialogue about governance reforms, economic growth, and social inclusion.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) Group’s participation is led by Deputy Group CEO Abdulla Al Sumait, along with other senior management members. ABK’s delegation will take part in discussions focusing on economic trends, financial stability, digital transformation, and sustainable finance. Al Sumait emphasized that the meetings serve as an important venue for exchanging expertise with global financial leaders, facilitating the development of innovative banking solutions. ABK seeks to use insights gained from these discussions to bolster its market position and support economic growth in Kuwait and the wider region. The bank also plans to utilize the event to foster long-term partnerships and explore investment opportunities that align with sustainable development goals.

The 2026 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, reflect Asia's growing influence in the global economic agenda. Participants will address issues including global financial stability, poverty eradication, inclusive growth, and future challenges such as cybersecurity, cross-border payments, and sovereign risks. The meetings also feature sessions of key committees and working groups focused on the global economic outlook and development policies. For Kuwait’s banking sector, these gatherings represent a strategic opportunity to benchmark against international best practices, engage with global stakeholders, and prepare for the evolving demands of the financial industry.
