Kuwait is seeking to strengthen its media and technology cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, officials announced during the LEAP 2026 Conference and Exhibition held in Riyadh.
Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar held separate meetings with senior counterparts from both countries on the sidelines of the event. In discussions with Eng Raed Al-Fayez, Deputy Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission for the Saudi Technology Sector, the two officials reviewed recent advancements in communications and information technology. Al-Fayez provided an overview of Saudi Arabia’s achievements in these sectors, highlighting the kingdom’s ongoing development efforts. The meeting included Najat Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Central Authority for Information Technology from Kuwait.
In a separate engagement, Minister Al-Omar met with Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Khalifa to explore opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation in information and communications technology. Both sides emphasized the importance of leveraging new technological innovations to enhance efficiency in their respective countries and to keep pace with rapid industry advancements. Najat Ibrahim also participated in this meeting.
These discussions underscore Kuwait’s commitment to fostering stronger regional partnerships in technology and communications. Officials from all parties expressed a shared interest in opening new channels for collaboration that could support the modernization of their digital infrastructure and promote knowledge exchange. The talks at LEAP 2026 reflect broader trends of increased cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council member states in strategic technology sectors.
