Kuwait City – Manawer Al-Mutairi, president of the Kuwait Sports Media Coordinators Association, has commended the leadership of Bashar Abdullah, the acting director general of the Public Authority for Sports, for his role in advancing Kuwaiti sports. Al-Mutairi emphasized that under Bashar’s direction, the sports sector in Kuwait has achieved notable progress despite operating in challenging circumstances.

Bashar Abdullah, a former international athlete with experience playing for Al-Salmiya, the Kuwait national team, and the Olympic team, took charge of the Public Authority for Sports during a period marked by difficulties. According to Al-Mutairi, Bashar’s extensive background in sports has been instrumental in effectively navigating these challenges and steering the authority toward growth.

During his tenure, Bashar has maintained a strong focus on supporting youth and the broader sports community in Kuwait. Al-Mutairi highlighted Bashar’s consistent oversight of the authority’s collaborations with local clubs and sports federations, as well as his active participation in Arab, regional, and international sports conferences, where he represents Kuwait’s interests.

Given these achievements, Al-Mutairi expressed support for officially appointing Bashar Abdullah as director general of the Public Authority for Sports following a recent organizational merger. Such an appointment, he argued, would enable Bashar to continue fostering development and consolidating the gains made in the Kuwaiti sports sector.
