Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned an attack on the Qatari liquefied natural gas carrier Al Mayeda, which occurred while the vessel was navigating the Arabian Gulf. The ship is owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat).
In a statement released Sunday, the ministry expressed its firm rejection of the attack, emphasizing that such actions threaten maritime security, the safety of navigation, and the stability of global energy supplies. The ministry underscored the importance of adhering to international law and safeguarding the freedom of maritime navigation, as well as protecting vessels and their crews.
Kuwait also highlighted the potential environmental and economic consequences stemming from attacks on energy carriers. Officials warned that these incidents could have serious implications for regional security and stability, stressing the broader risks posed to the Gulf area by disruptive acts targeting critical energy infrastructure.
