Kuwait has been eliminated from title contention at the 24th Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship following a third straight defeat in the preliminary round. The tournament is taking place in Amman, Jordan.

On Saturday, Kuwait lost 3-1 to Oman, adding to earlier losses against Bahrain and Algeria. The team began its campaign with a straight-sets defeat by Bahrain before falling 3-1 to Algeria. These results have left Kuwait with little chance of advancing beyond the preliminary stage or competing for the championship title.

Despite being out of the running for the top prize, Kuwait will continue to compete to improve its overall standing. The team is scheduled to face Saudi Arabia at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Amman’s Arena Hall. Following a rest day on Monday, preliminary matches will resume on Tuesday and Wednesday. Kuwait’s final group match will be against hosts Jordan on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti referee Hussein Al-Tamimi has been appointed to officiate at the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, which is underway in Doha, Qatar, from October 10 to 13. This appointment marks the first time a referee from Kuwait has been selected for an Asian beach volleyball championship, reflecting the increasing recognition of Kuwaiti officiating expertise at the continental level and the trust placed in local officials at major international events.
