Kuwait University announced plans to host the Ninth International Conference on Energy Research and Development from November 17 to 19 at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City. The event will bring together experts, specialists, and academics from both within Kuwait and abroad.

Dr. Osama Al-Yousef, Acting Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Kuwait University and Chairman of the conference’s Higher Organizing Committee, said the event is being organized in collaboration with local and international partners. The conference has received backing from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, and is held in coordination with the College of Engineering and Petroleum.

According to Dr. Al-Yousef, 50 scientific papers have undergone review and been approved for presentation at the conference. The program will feature sessions and workshops focusing on several key topics including the future of renewable energy and its role in sustainable development, energy conservation and conversion techniques, environmental considerations, as well as advancements in air conditioning and cooling systems. Discussions will also explore broader issues related to the evolving energy sector.

The conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and to promote research and development in energy technologies, reflecting Kuwait’s growing interest in diversifying its energy sources and addressing environmental challenges.
