The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) at Kuwait University held an orientation session for newly admitted graduate students for the 2026/2027 academic year. The event took place recently at Sabah Al-Salem University City in Kuwait City, aiming to introduce students to the academic and administrative processes essential for their postgraduate education.

Acting Dean Dr. Meshaal Khalaf Al-Gharib and acting Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Iman Tawfiq Al-Sharhan, alongside several college officials, attended the orientation to welcome the students and provide guidance. Dr. Al-Gharib congratulated the incoming students on their acceptance and encouraged them to engage actively with their programs. He emphasized the session’s role in outlining course registration procedures, informing students about academic requirements, and promoting awareness of available academic services. He also stressed the importance of maintaining close communication with program directors to review study plans and clarify expectations.

Dr. Al-Sharhan highlighted the nature of graduate studies as an extension of the academic journey focused on scientific research, critical thinking, and the continuous enhancement of scholarly skills. She urged students to adhere to the college’s regulations and to rely solely on official channels for information.

Additionally, Fatima Hussein, Head of the Admissions and Registration Department at the CGS, provided an overview of key academic regulations and procedures. She advised students on the necessity of regularly activating and checking their university email accounts, obtaining their university identification cards, and familiarizing themselves with their program directors and secretaries.

The orientation sought to equip new graduate students with essential knowledge to facilitate a smooth transition into their advanced academic programs, emphasizing administrative compliance and proactive engagement with academic staff.
