Kuwait University's Sports Activities Department recently sent student delegations to participate in international events, including the Asian University Table Tennis Championship in Kuantan, Malaysia, and the second edition of the Youth Knowledge Forum held in Rabat, Morocco.

The table tennis championship took place from September 3 to 11 and featured participants from numerous Asian universities and sports institutions. Kuwait University was represented by male and female teams, reflecting the institution’s commitment to supporting athletically talented students and promoting sportsmanship at the regional and international levels. According to Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, acting Dean of Student Affairs and head of the delegation, the university views such competitions as vital in providing students with valuable experience, boosting their confidence, and representing Kuwait on the international sports stage. He emphasized the university’s strategy to expand student participation in local, regional, and international championships as part of its efforts to cultivate and enhance student talents across various disciplines.

The university’s Sports Activities Department continues to implement programs aimed at advancing university sports, discovering promising athletes, and preparing students for competitive events. These initiatives are designed to nurture students’ skills as well as instill values such as competitiveness, commitment, and teamwork.

In addition to the sports championship, Kuwait University also took part in the Youth Knowledge Forum in Morocco, organized under the theme “Overcoming Crises Towards Sustainability.” The university’s delegation comprised students from several colleges and was supervised by Abrar Al-Kandari, Head of the Cultural Section at the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department. The forum provided a platform for young participants from diverse backgrounds to exchange knowledge and experiences, reinforcing the university’s goal of engaging in international academic and cultural forums.

The university stated that participation in such events aligns with its strategic directives to maintain a robust international presence, enhance its global reputation, and highlight its contributions to academic and cultural development.
