Kuwait has launched a national digital platform designed to enhance livestock management, bolster food security, and accelerate the digital transformation of the sector. The announcement was made on Monday by Dr. Reem Al-Fulaij, Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs, alongside Omar Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture.

The new platform aims to create a unified national database that will streamline services for livestock breeders, improve subsidy administration, strengthen animal health monitoring, enhance oversight and traceability, and ensure food safety. By leveraging artificial intelligence and data analytics, the system intends to refine subsidy targeting, enhance financial accountability, and provide accurate data to aid food security planning and policymaking.

Dr. Al-Fulaij outlined five primary objectives for the platform: better serving breeders, managing subsidies more effectively, elevating livestock health standards, improving traceability and food safety practices, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

Omar Al-Omar highlighted the role of the Central Agency for Information Technology in spearheading the platform's implementation and integrating it with various government agencies. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with Kuwait’s broader efforts to unify government services, embrace modern technology, and promote the sustainable management of national resources. The platform will adhere to national information security standards to safeguard data integrity throughout its operation.
