Kuwait’s national athletics team secured two additional medals at the 12th Arab U-18 Athletics Championship, held in Cairo, bringing their total medal count to seven. The competition, which commenced on September 6, features 276 athletes representing 15 Arab countries.

Abdulrahman Al-Azmi claimed the gold medal in the triple jump with a personal best leap of 14.53 meters. Meanwhile, Abdulkarim Al-Hassan earned a silver medal in the hammer throw, also setting a personal record with a distance of 64.57 meters.

Falah Sunaidah, national teams’ chief and member of the Kuwait Athletics Federation board, highlighted these performances as indicators of progress for Kuwaiti athletics at the youth level. He noted that the team’s overall haul—three gold, three silver, and one bronze medal—alongside multiple personal bests, demonstrates the effectiveness of the team’s preparation for the tournament.

Sunaidah expressed pride in the athletes’ achievements and underscored the role of both technical and administrative staff in supporting the team’s success. He attributed the positive results to sustained dedication and concerted effort across all levels of the squad.

The Arab U-18 Athletics Championship serves as a platform for emerging athletes from the Arab region to showcase their talents and gain international experience ahead of senior-level competitions.
