Kuwait’s national air sports team claimed the gold medal in the aeromodelling competition at the fourth Arab Model Aircraft Championship, held as part of the third Arab Air Sports Championship in Tunisia. The event took place over four days and brought together athletes from 11 Arab countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine.

The Kuwaiti team, made up of Abdulaziz Al-Foudari, Talal Al-Foudari, and Mohammed Al-Dosari, secured first place on Friday, prevailing against strong regional competitors. The championship, organized under the supervision of the Arab Air Sports Federation in cooperation with the Tunisian Air Sports Federation, featured competitions in two main disciplines: model aircraft and paragliding.

Ahmad Mawhej, head of the Kuwaiti delegation and chairman of Kuwait Air Sports Club, praised the team’s performance. Mawhej, who also serves as vice-president of the Asian and Arab Air Sports Federations, highlighted the importance of regional participation for advancing the sport within Kuwait. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Public Authority for Sport and Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, as well as the assistance of Kuwait’s Embassy in Tunisia, led by Ambassador Mansour Al-Omar.

Mawhej noted that the competition featured intense rivalry among Arab participants and emphasized that Kuwait’s involvement in such events would enhance both the country’s position in air sports and the competitive abilities of its athletes on Arab and international stages.

The medal ceremony for winners was scheduled for Saturday, concluding the championship after four days of contests involving pilots, athletes, and specialists in air sports disciplines.
