Kuwaiti equestrian Ali Jassim Al-Kharafi has secured a place in the finals of the Equestrian World Championship scheduled for August in Aachen, Germany. Al-Kharafi, a member of the Kuwait Club and national team as well as an Asian champion, earned his qualification following a strong showing in a recent Grand Prix competition.
Competing in one of the final qualifying events, Al-Kharafi demonstrated consistent skill across various jumping heights, ultimately clinching the last available spot for the championship. “We delivered a solid result in the Grand Prix and earned the qualification spot for the World Championship,” he commented.
Al-Kharafi’s recent performances in multiple Grand Prix events have bolstered his standing within both regional and international equestrian circles. His success is expected to build momentum as he prepares to compete against some of the world’s leading riders and horses in Aachen.
The championship in Aachen is recognized as one of the premier events on the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) calendar. Known for its historic venue and challenging courses, Aachen regularly hosts top-tier competitions in show jumping, dressage, and other elite equestrian disciplines. The 2026 event is anticipated to draw significant global attention, with highly competitive fields expected in the show jumping and dressage categories.
Al-Kharafi’s qualification marks a notable achievement for Kuwait’s equestrian community as the nation seeks greater prominence on the world stage through participation in such high-profile tournaments.
