Kuwaiti healthcare leaders Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Ayman Salem Al-Mutawa, CEO of Al-Salam Hospitals, have been named among the top healthcare executives in the Arab region for 2026. The Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) included both figures in its Select Leaders List, which recognizes 35 distinguished leaders from nine Arab countries for their contributions to advancing healthcare.

The AHF's Select Leaders List highlights individuals who have demonstrated notable impact on healthcare systems, including improving institutional performance, raising standards of care, and strengthening professional teams. The federation emphasized that the selection process is conducted by an independent jury and is based on documented achievements, sustainable outcomes, and enhancements in healthcare quality and safety.

AHF officials stressed that the evaluation does not involve self-nomination, public applications, or financial contributions, ensuring impartiality in the recognition process. The announcement underscores the role of Dr. Al-Sabah and Dr. Al-Mutawa in fostering development within Kuwait’s healthcare sector.

The honored leaders will receive their awards at the opening ceremony of the 2026 MedHealth Doha Forum, scheduled for November 22 in Doha. The forum serves as a regional platform for healthcare professionals to exchange expertise and discuss advancements impacting the Arab world’s medical landscape.
