Kuwaiti oil prices rose notably on Friday, with the price per barrel increasing by $1.32 to close at $105.91, according to data from the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) released Saturday. This uptick follows the previous day’s price of $104.59 per barrel.
The movement in Kuwaiti oil contrasts with trends observed in other major global benchmarks. Brent crude prices edged down slightly by six cents to $102.25 per barrel, while the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) saw a more significant decline of $1.76, settling at $91.11 per barrel.
These mixed price changes underscore ongoing volatility and divergent market dynamics influencing oil prices worldwide. While Kuwait’s oil price strengthened, possibly reflecting regional supply factors or demand expectations, declines in Brent and WTI highlight uncertainties affecting global crude markets.
