The Ministry of Justice in Kuwait has opened applications for the position of Junior Legal Researcher, targeting recent law graduates eligible for advancement to the role of Assistant Public Prosecutor (Grade C). The announcement, made on October 31, invites both male and female Kuwaiti nationals to apply through the ministry’s official website from November 1 until the end of the month.
Candidates must fulfill several criteria to qualify. Applicants are required to be Kuwaiti nationals by origin and hold a law degree from Kuwait University or an equivalent institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, specifically targeting graduates from the 2025/2026 academic year. A minimum university GPA of 2.67 on a 4.0 scale—or an equivalent grade—must be met as well. Additionally, applicants must be no older than 26 at the time their degree was awarded, must not have applied for the position previously, nor have held any role requiring a university degree in public or private sectors, or be registered with the Public Institution for Social Security.
Applicants must also demonstrate good conduct and reputation, with no prior convictions or disciplinary actions related to breaches of honor, integrity, or conduct, regardless of any subsequent legal rehabilitation. Medical fitness is required, and candidates must successfully pass a written examination before advancing to a personal interview conducted by the selection committee.
The application process requires several supporting documents, including a personal photograph, copies of Civil ID, birth certificate, nationality certificate, and a recent certificate from the Public Institution for Social Security. Applicants must also submit a certificate of good conduct and their university degree certificate along with transcripts. For those holding qualifications from institutions outside Kuwait, an equivalency certificate authorized by the Ministry of Higher Education is mandatory.
Applications and all required documents must be submitted in PDF format through the Ministry of Justice’s website under the “Employment Services” section. The application portal opened at midnight on November 1 and will close at midnight on November 30.
The ministry has provided contact details for inquiries, including an email address and phone numbers.
Successful candidates will be appointed as Junior Legal Researchers within the civil service and will receive associated financial benefits and allowances. They will also participate in a training program at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, tailored to the position’s requirements and aligned with existing regulations and decisions.
