Leeds Rhinos full-back Lachie Miller will miss the remainder of the 2026 Super League season after suffering a torn hamstring during an early clash with Wigan Warriors earlier this month. The injury forced Miller off the field within minutes of the match, which was one of the Rhinos’ most significant fixtures this season.

Medical scans confirmed that Miller’s hamstring tear will keep him sidelined until the start of the next preseason, ruling him out of Leeds’ upcoming play-off campaign. The team is preparing to pursue Grand Final success under coach Brad Arthur. Miller, who was recently named to the 2026 Super League Dream Team, expressed disappointment over the timing but remains optimistic about his team’s prospects.

“I was almost positive that when I did it, I was done,” Miller said. He noted that the injury was more severe in sensation than a previous hamstring issue suffered two years ago, although he believes this current one may not be as serious. “It was pretty painful at the time, I couldn’t walk for a couple of days but now it feels like it’s sweet, which is frustrating.”

Miller acknowledged the personal challenges the injury brought, mentioning how difficult the week was for both himself and his wife. He credited his family and close support network for helping him cope with the setback. “There was a couple of days where I played a fair bit of PlayStation and didn’t talk to many people but it’s just one of those,” he said. Despite the frustration, Miller emphasized his belief in the team’s ability to succeed without him. “The reason I’m not super upset about it right now is because I know the team can still go on and win.”

As Leeds prepares to begin their play-off journey, team captain Ash Handley is expected to take over the full-back position. Miller said he would be available to assist Handley with any guidance as he adapts to the role. “The good thing about Ash is that he’s a really smart player,” Miller said. “I said if he wants anything from me he’s more than welcome to ask but you don’t want to bombard him. He’s a class player. He did a really good job on the weekend.”

Leeds will face the highest-ranked winner from this week’s eliminator matches as they seek to advance in the playoffs and contend for the League Leaders’ Shield.
