The Ladies Tournament is set to return to Mines Resort and Golf Club in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, from October 1 to 3, continuing its role in promoting women’s professional golf in Malaysia. Sanctioned by the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour, the event is designed to provide Malaysian women golfers with increased competitive opportunities while aiming to develop into a tournament of regional and international significance.

The 2026 edition will maintain its RM100,000 prize fund, reaffirming its status as a key platform for advancing the professional women’s game in the country. Mines Resort’s ongoing support reflects its historical commitment to women’s golf, having hosted the Women’s World Cup of Golf in 2000, which attracted some of the world’s leading female players at the time.

The tournament’s return for a second year marks a continuing effort to establish a lasting legacy for women’s golf in Malaysia. Organizers highlight the belief that Malaysian women golfers have the talent and potential to compete at the highest levels when provided with adequate opportunities. “More tournaments, greater exposure and stronger competitive pathways are essential to nurturing sustainable professional careers and elevating the standard of women’s golf nationwide,” the organizing committee said.

The inaugural event in 2025 saw Liyana Durisic claim the title with a consistent performance over 54 holes, finishing at two-under-par to take home the RM17,500 winner’s prize. Jocelyn Chee and Ng Jing Xuen finished in second and third place respectively, underscoring the emerging depth of talent in Malaysia’s women’s golf scene.

Durisic, the defending champion, is expected to return to defend her title, aiming to build on her success from the tournament’s first edition. Beyond the competition itself, the Ladies Tournament aims to inspire a new generation of players by establishing a clear progression from junior and amateur levels to the professional ranks.

“The tournament serves as a reminder to young Malaysian women that success at the highest level is within reach,” the organizers added. The event reflects broader efforts to grow and sustain women’s golf as a competitive sport nationally, with hopes of elevating its profile across the region in the years to come.
