The New Zealand Warriors have bolstered their roster with two new signings as the team aims to regain momentum following a challenging stretch of three losses in four games. The club secured Wests Tigers winger Luke Laulilii on a short-term contract before the June 30 mid-season deadline, adding depth to their outside backline.

Laulilii, 20, has made a notable impression in the NRL, scoring 10 tries in 17 career games, including six in eight appearances this season. While with the Warriors, he is expected to provide immediate support before joining the Perth Bears on a two-year deal starting next season. Andrew McFadden, the Warriors’ general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development, described Laulilii’s arrival as a valuable boost to the squad’s depth on the wings.

Upon signing, Laulilii expressed gratitude toward the Wests Tigers and their fans, reflecting on his time with the club as an important chapter in his career.

In addition, the Warriors have secured Riley Price on a development contract through the end of 2026, with plans to promote him into the top 30 squad next year. Price is the son of former Warrior Steve Price and has a history with the club from his youth in Auckland. McFadden noted the excitement in welcoming Riley back, highlighting his experience in both the Queensland Cup and New South Wales Cup, as well as his exposure to NRL-level competition.

Price’s football lineage and professional approach to the game are seen as assets that will strengthen the Warriors' squad. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Price relocated to Australia at age 15 and has since played for the Townsville Blackhawks, North Queensland Cowboys, and Penrith Panthers in the NRL.

The Warriors are scheduled to face the Wests Tigers on July 10. Earlier this season, the Tigers defeated the Warriors 32-14 at Go Media Stadium.

Currently, the Warriors hold second place on the National Rugby League ladder with 24 points, sharing the position with the Dolphins, Sydney Roosters, and Newcastle Knights. All four teams trail the top-ranked Penrith Panthers, who have accumulated 28 points.
