The Las Vegas Aces delivered a commanding performance in a 92-73 victory over the Golden State Valkyries at home on Monday. Led by Jackie Young’s 21 points and five assists, alongside A’ja Wilson’s 19 points and nine rebounds, the Aces extended their strong form with their eighth win in nine games, improving their record to 12-4.

Young’s five assists during the game elevated her to second place on the Aces’ all-time assists list with 1,136, surpassing Becky Hammon’s previous total. Chelsea Gray remains the franchise leader with 1,179 assists. Gray contributed significantly in the contest as well, adding 15 points and nine assists.

Reserve players also made notable contributions for Las Vegas. NaLyssa Smith and Jewell Loyd each scored 14 points to bolster the Aces’ offense. Smith played a key role during a critical stretch in the second quarter, scoring three baskets as part of a 10-point run that put the Aces ahead 39-28.

The decisive moment came with a 21-2 run spanning late in the second quarter, which transformed a competitive game into a commanding lead. After Gabby Williams made two free throws to halt the surge, Gray and Young combined to score 11 straight points, extending the lead to 50-30 at halftime.

For the Golden State Valkyries (10-7), offensive struggles from beyond the arc hindered their chances. Cecilia Zandalasini led the team with 12 points, but Golden State missed 19 out of their first 20 three-point attempts, contributing to their inability to keep pace with the Aces.

The Aces’ defensive intensity and efficient scoring enabled them to control the game throughout, securing a comfortable margin of victory in front of their home crowd. The win emphasizes Las Vegas’ position as one of the stronger teams in the league this season.
