The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) officially launched the “Gulf Legislation Platform” on June 14, 2026, at the General Secretariat headquarters. The new electronic platform is designed to enhance legislative integration among the six GCC member states by providing streamlined access to unified Gulf legislation and national laws.

The platform aims to serve as a central repository where government bodies, legal professionals, researchers, and others interested in legislative matters can efficiently search and review legal texts issued under the framework of joint Gulf action. It currently hosts over 24,700 legal and legislative documents, offering advanced search capabilities to facilitate ease of use.

GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi praised the initiative during the launch event, highlighting its role in supporting legislative and legal work throughout the region. The platform is the result of a proposal by the General Secretariat that was approved by the Standing Committee of Officials of Legislation Departments at its 19th meeting. The committee sought to establish a specialized resource to improve access to unified legislation and promote greater coherence in the legal frameworks of member states.

By fostering better legislative coordination and the exchange of legal expertise, the Gulf Legislation Platform seeks to further unify regulatory standards across the GCC countries, aligning with broader goals of regional integration. The development is part of ongoing efforts to consolidate the legislative systems of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates in order to support joint governance and economic cooperation.
