A legal dispute has emerged between widow Marianne Flippo and escort Gregg Starr, who is accused of manipulating Flippo into transferring $6 million to him. The lawsuit was filed this week, with Flippo alleging that Starr, a 38-year-old escort associated with Cowboys4Angels, exploited her vulnerability following the death of her husband, Chad Flippo.
Chad Flippo, who passed away by suicide in 2024, was a software developer involved in the creation of the popular gaming platform Roblox. After his death, Marianne Flippo reportedly hired Starr for companionship. According to the complaint, Starr, who has undergone extensive plastic surgery resulting in a distinctive appearance described as an “icy stare” with sculpted features, convinced Flippo of his love under questionable circumstances. Starr allegedly claimed that their relationship could only continue if Flippo bought out his $10 million contract, prompting her to transfer millions of dollars to him.
The lawsuit contends that Flippo was intoxicated with alcohol and under the influence of multiple prescription medications at a Four Seasons Hotel when the transactions occurred. Flippo's legal team asserts that Starr took advantage of her impaired state to secure the payouts.
Starr has denied the allegations, calling claims of coercion “not true at all.” His attorneys emphasized that the relationship involved two consenting adults who agreed to private terms. They also stated they possess extensive written, audio, and video evidence to support the legitimacy of the relationship and present a narrative that contradicts the accusations.
Experts suggest that individuals with substantial wealth can be particularly vulnerable in such circumstances. Psychiatrist Dr. David Puder noted that those with financial means often become targets for exploitation, especially if they are experiencing emotional distress or have limited prior exposure to deceptive individuals. “If you have enough money, you have a target on your back,” he said, adding that naivety and psychological vulnerability can significantly increase susceptibility to manipulation.
The case highlights the complex dynamics that can arise when financial resources intersect with personal vulnerability. The outcome will ultimately be determined through court proceedings where both sides will be able to present their evidence and arguments.
