The Lawyers Admission Committee convened yesterday under the leadership of HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali al-Mohannadi. During the session, the Committee addressed various agenda items related to the legal profession.
Three lawyers took the legal oath before the Committee after successfully completing their training periods, officially allowing them to practice law. The Committee also reviewed applications for entry to the rolls of practicing lawyers and trainee lawyers, approving several candidates in both categories. Additionally, two candidates submitted requests regarding the completion of their training periods in preparation for practicing law, which the Committee considered.
The meeting included decisions on the status of current practitioners, with approval granted to transfer one lawyer from the roster of practicing lawyers authorized to appear before the Court of First Instance to the roster permitted to appear before the Court of Appeal. Another lawyer’s registration was transferred from the register of practicing lawyers to the register of non-practicing lawyers.
Beyond admissions and transfers, the Committee discussed regulatory issues affecting the legal profession, reviewing reports submitted by its subcommittees and making corresponding decisions in response to these reports.
