Rehabilitation and development efforts are underway in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, following significant flooding caused by the 2026 monsoon season. The regional government is spearheading initiatives to restore affected communities and support the agricultural sector.

On October 24, the Ayeyawady Region Government delivered aid packages to the Charity Sayadaw, including offering baskets, dried noodles, solar lights, rice, and canned fish. These donations were made on behalf of the Chief Minister. Additionally, Sayadaws and local residents from Dedaye Township contributed cash donations to aid families impacted by the floods in Laymyethna Township.

Authorities are assisting residents in resettling in Yephyu Village, located within Chingon Village-tract. To facilitate recovery of the agricultural sector, farmers replanting winter crops such as winter beans and peas on flood-damaged land will receive support in the form of seed distribution and fuel subsidies. Specifically, each farmer will be provided with eight viss (approximately 13 kilograms) of winter beans per acre to aid crop replanting.

Moreover, the government will supply 2.5 gallons of diesel fuel per acre to farmers in Aingthabyu and Letkarein village-tracts. This measure is intended to help farmers resume cultivation of winter beans, green beans, and peas on their inundated farmland. Fuel distribution is being coordinated through the Htun Thit Sa fuel filling station in Aingthabyu Village-tract, with plans to extend the support to other village-tracts as fuel quotas permit.

These efforts form part of a broader regional commitment to restore livelihoods and infrastructure following the devastation wrought by the monsoon floods in Laymyethna Township. Officials continue to monitor conditions and coordinate relief activities to ensure effective recovery.
