The fifth annual LEAP global technology conference opened on Monday in Riyadh, bringing together a diverse group of innovators, startups, investors, and industry leaders. The event, held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, is taking place under the theme “Into New Worlds,” focusing on how emerging technologies are transforming everyday life and work.
This year’s conference expects participation from over 1,000 speakers, 1,800 technology companies, 600 startups, and 1,900 investors. The program spans a wide range of sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), finance, health, education, sports, smart cities, space exploration, gaming, and digital infrastructure. One of the featured segments is DeepFest, which spotlights advancements in AI technologies.
In addition to technology showcases, LEAP offers dedicated zones for fostering partnerships, exploring sports technology innovations, promoting global initiatives, and facilitating live content creation. The event also serves as a platform for announcing new agreements and technological initiatives, continuing its tradition as a venue for significant investment announcements.
A key focus of the conference is on maximizing the economic and social impact of technology, with special emphasis on opportunities for Saudi talent. Students and entrepreneurs attending LEAP have access to global innovations, international expertise, career development prospects, and venture funding pathways, alongside live demonstrations of emerging technologies.
Among the participants is the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, which is presenting smart facilities designed to enhance operations and improve visitor experiences. Their pavilion features innovations such as digital twin applications, AI-driven systems for crowd management, smart maintenance, asset and energy management, private 5G networks, and an Integrated Unified Operations Center.
Another notable exhibitor, stc Group, is showcasing advanced digital solutions, secure infrastructure, and high-performance networks aimed at supporting the digital transformation of Saudi Arabia’s key industries, public sectors, and large-scale events. The company is also contributing to discussions on the future of technology and outlining its strategy to accelerate innovation through focused investments.
The LEAP conference is scheduled to continue through Thursday, reinforcing Riyadh’s position as a growing hub for technology and innovation in the Middle East.
