Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has expressed optimism about the club’s prospects following a period of rebuilding and improvement. After returning to the Premier League only five times since 2004, Leeds finished 14th in the previous season and reached the FA Cup semi-finals, signaling progress for the historically significant but long-struggling club.

Farke credited the club’s fanbase for their unwavering support and passion, describing them as “unbelievably emotional” and “second to none.” He acknowledged the difficult years the club and its supporters endured, often spanning decades, and encouraged fans to feel hopeful about the team’s future. “Now they should perhaps get a bit excited, dream big, be full of optimism,” Farke said, while also emphasizing the need for focus and discipline within the squad.

Looking ahead to Leeds’ upcoming Premier League fixture against Brentford, Farke underscored his intent to strengthen the squad further. This summer, Leeds have made several notable signings, including defenders Tarik Muharemovic, James Trafford, and Nico Elvedi, as well as midfielder Harry Wilson. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Lucas Perri has moved to Torino on loan, with Michael Zetterer, who recently joined from Eintracht Frankfurt, set to serve as the club’s secondary goalkeeper.

Despite these acquisitions, Farke indicated that the club is still exploring opportunities to enhance the team in specific areas. “I’m pleased with our signings but we definitely want to improve the squad further in a few positions,” he explained.

Leeds’ recent form has shown promise, with back-to-back wins against Nottingham Forest in the league and Carabao Cup, fueling hopes that the club can build on its momentum and achieve greater success in the current season.
