A legal dispute over photographs of Princess Diana exercising in a gym was resolved through an out-of-court settlement in 1995. The images, taken at LA Fitness in Isleworth, west London, were captured by Bryce Taylor, the gym’s owner at the time. Taylor used a concealed high-tech camera installed in a panel above the princess’s head to photograph her while she was on an exercise machine, dressed in a leotard and cycling shorts.

Following the publication of the photos in the Sunday Mirror and later the Daily Mirror, Princess Diana initiated legal proceedings against both Taylor and Mirror Group Newspapers. The case concluded with a confidential settlement that included coverage of the princess’s legal expenses and a donation to charity. The resolution came a year after the images were released, closing a contentious chapter around the unauthorized photography.
