Legal professionals report the poorest health and wellbeing levels compared to workers in other sectors, according to a recent study conducted by Epassim, a benefits platform. The research highlights significant workplace challenges within the legal industry, with two-thirds of respondents expressing feelings of being overwhelmed by their workload. Additionally, 16 percent of legal workers report regularly working beyond their contracted hours every day.

Antonio Barradas of Epassim commented on the findings, noting that stressful environments and extended working hours have long been associated with legal firms. He emphasized that these conditions continue to be widespread in the sector, contributing to ongoing concerns about employee wellbeing.

The study underscores persistent issues related to occupational stress and work-life balance within legal workplaces. While high-pressure environments and demanding schedules are recognized characteristics of legal careers, the extent of their impact on health and wellbeing revealed in the study points to systemic challenges that remain largely unaddressed.
