Lendlease has reported significant progress in fulfilling its climate and social commitments made in 2020, surpassing targets set for 2025. The multinational property and infrastructure group has demonstrated measurable impact across environmental sustainability and social inclusion initiatives in various regions, including Singapore.
On the social front, Lendlease set a goal to generate A$250 million in social value by 2025 through partnerships and community engagement. Social value is calculated by assessing participants’ personal development, access to resources, or new skills, which are then assigned monetary worth through an independent, globally recognized methodology. The company exceeded this target by 13%, delivering A$284.6 million and reaching approximately 250,000 people across eight countries.
In Singapore, Lendlease Foundation partnered with Dignity Kitchen starting in 2022 to provide training for 40 individuals with disabilities through a train-and-place program. This collaboration has produced close to A$2 million in social value. Additionally, Lendlease Reit, the group’s Singapore-listed real estate investment trust, has actively engaged staff in culinary classes at Dignity Kitchen, with some using personal SkillsFuture credits to participate. In February 2026, the foundation increased its local commitment by pledging S$400,000 to AWWA’s Home & Day Activity Centre to support wheelchair repairs, custom fittings, and other mobility aids. The centre hosted a sensory tour of Chinatown in August 2025 tailored for wheelchair users, emphasizing inclusion through multiple senses beyond sight.
On environmental commitments, Lendlease outlined two carbon reduction targets as part of its “mission zero”: achieving net zero emissions for operational energy (Scope 1 and 2) by 2025, and absolute zero emissions across its entire supply chain (Scope 3) by 2040, without relying on carbon offsets. The company met its net-zero operational emissions target on schedule in the 2025 fiscal year and achieved 100% renewable electricity five years ahead of its initial 2030 deadline. Lendlease Reit reached net zero in fiscal 2023, two years prior to target, and scored 93 out of 100 in the 2025 GRESB benchmark for real estate sustainability performance, well above the 2024 average score of 76.
Darryl Stuckey, head of corporate sustainability at Lendlease, emphasized the company’s longstanding commitment to creating value beyond financial returns—a principle instilled by founder Dick Dusseldorp. He noted that while operational net zero has been achieved, the more challenging goal of absolute zero remains, particularly in addressing embodied carbon in construction materials such as concrete and steel. Since publishing regional roadmaps in 2021, Lendlease has been collaborating with customers, partners, and suppliers to advance decarbonization efforts across the built environment. Stuckey confirmed that sustainability continues to be integral to Lendlease’s approach to design, development, construction, and investment, aiming to create resilient and inclusive spaces that generate long-term stakeholder value.
