Lewis Hamilton has denied reports that he requested the dismissal of a Ferrari staff member following a challenging weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix. An Italian newspaper recently claimed the seven-time world champion sought the removal of a trackside employee and that his relationship with Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur was strained.

Hamilton, who is currently third in the drivers’ standings with nine races remaining in the season, addressed the speculation in a statement on Instagram. He firmly rejected the allegations, saying he has never asked for anyone on his team to be replaced. “Everyone I work with works hard every day and their dedication is what moves us forward,” Hamilton said. He added that his goal is to empower and support his colleagues, acknowledging that while he may not always succeed, the intention remains to work collaboratively.

The Italian report followed a tense weekend at the Madrid circuit, where Hamilton was involved in a notable incident during practice. While on pace to set the fastest time, the British driver lost control and struck the barriers, resulting in significant front wing damage. Despite instructions from the Mercedes pit wall to leave the car to facilitate recovery by track marshals, Hamilton reversed out of the barrier area and attempted to return to the pits under his own power.

This move went against team orders, as officials repeatedly instructed Hamilton to stop the car. Nevertheless, he continued driving on a punctured tire before eventually coming to a halt. The episode contributed to an uneasy atmosphere around the team and fueled the speculation about internal tensions.
