Lewis Hamilton has been honored with a corner named after him at the Hungaroring, the circuit that hosts the Hungarian Grand Prix. Turn 2 of the track will officially bear the name of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, who holds the record with eight victories at the venue. The tribute comes as part of the race’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

In addition to Hamilton, fellow former drivers Nigel Mansell and Jean Alesi were also recognized with corners named in their honor. The selections were made through a combination of fan votes and a panel of experts. Each of the three drivers has contributed handprints that will be cast in concrete and embedded in the run-off area of their respective turns.

Further tributes include Formula 1 icons Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, who will be commemorated with corners named after them at Turns 12 and 13. These honorary designations serve to highlight the significant impact each driver has had on the history of the Hungarian Grand Prix and the sport more broadly.
